Pearl Cotton #5 in white. Heavier metallic thread in 2 colors, or another color of pearl.
Marking thread: thin white thread
Prepare an 8-Combination Division
Add extra marking lines to the C8 following the lighter lines shown in the diagram to the left with the same thin white thread. The inner blue line in the diagram show the first row of pattern stitching. The inner points of the star shape are 1cm from the center along the extra marking lines, and the outer points are 2cm from the center along the original marking lines. Stitch one round of chidori kagari using white pearl cotton.
The next 5 rows were stitched to frame the white star. The gold metallic thread was used, leaving spaces between the rows to create a lacy effect. Pearl cotton may be used as an alternate.
The last row used the darker metallic thread. Notice that the pattern only touches the outside square of the C8 marking along the flat side.
