|Materials: 24 cm circum mari, wrapped in light pink
Pearl Cotton #5 in Blue, Yellow, Red, Green, Orange, Red, Black (only the contrast)
Marking thread in gold metallic
Prepare a 10-Combination Division
|Each of the 12 center points will be worked the same. Design
is nejiri style. Use
the 6 colors over the center point 2 times, opposite each
other. Add extra marking lines shown in red on the
12 pentagons. Lines run from center of the pentagon to point
halfway between 2 marking lines on side of pentagon.
Locate center A and the blue line with points 1,2,3,4,5.
Use the first color. First row - stitch sequence 1,2,3,4,5 etc
just over marking line when at pentagon borders, continue back
to point 1. Repeat row 4 times, forming Kousa/interweave
at point 3, 4 etc. Locate next pentagon around C. Start with the
next color first row and work on same way as first. Interlock at
pt. X and Y before the stitch. Repeat rows 4 times.
Repeat the pattern in six colors, on all pentagons,
keeping the same color on the opposite site of the mari.
