Temari - How to Make Japanese Thread Balls
New - it's here!  The partner video to the book by Diana Vandervoort

Finally!!!! - there is a video for learning how to make Temari. Diana Vandervoort has worked long and hard to produce a teaching video that compliments her first book,   Temari - How to Make Japanese Thread Balls.
book and tape
For all of you that have been chomping for a visual learning method rather than just using the book diagrams, your time has come. It took quite a long time to "hatch" and the effort is obvious.  I have seen it, and can recommend it highly; I've seen few instructional videos this well executed. It is well produced, follows the book in sequence and works you through each temari project in sequence and in detail. The video references each page in the book, and makes each project defined and clear. It is worked in meticulous detail and leaves nothing out. It is as though Diana is sitting there with you as you learn.

Tips and helps are highlighted as you go along
Reminder and review of previously covered information keeps you tuned in
All filming is done from over the shoulder so you see on screen what you see in your hands. See it and do it!

This instructional video demonstration lets you see what is presented on each page of Temari, How to... so you can watch as Diana shows you how, stop the tape and do the step, or rewind and repeat as needed, then continue on - learn at your own pace, on your own time. As the tape follows each page of the book you become confortable with all the basic steps of Temari. Then, at the end there is a bonus of step by step lessons on working the "Double 8ths" and then the "Pentagons" divisions, so that you can continue on to any pattern or book you desire to. In addition to the basic illustration frames you will also be treated to some spectacular Temari photography of patterns galore.

I'm delighted that when I get the questions of "Isn't there a video out there I can get to learn this?" I can now say yes - there is! and pleased that I can work with Diana in offering it to the Temari community. It is not available in stores, only by direct order from Diana.  For more information on obtaining the video, or the book and video set, click over to ordering how to's on Temari Extras.
