Temari in Education - Daphne Intermediate School, Fairhope, Alabama
These photos and info started out as a Check it Out page, but are a perfect addition to Temari in Education - This comes from Daphne Intermediate School in Alabama, where one of the Discussion Group members is one of 2 gifted education instructors on  campus. Blair says, " I shared a print out of Karen's Temari cards with Carolyn, my coworker, as she had done string art with her students recently. Carolyn fell in love with Karen's work and ordered the templates. Then she had the idea of enlarging the patterns which she did with Karen's permission."
Karen says, " Blair and Carolyn  purchased the card kits, and later contacted me if they could use the patterns and templates as a teaching aid for their gifted students class. I gave them the go ahead and my only request was that they send pix of the students and projects. There are some of the students in progress, and then students with completed projects... and I am thrilled with the results. Kids put me to shame every time! Hope you enjoy them, and we have everyone's permission to use them .... any where else you'd like to show them off". Show them off we do!  And we hope that this might servce as a reference and resources of how you can incorporate Temari techniques into education or youth projects.  Blair shared a news article about herself and invovlement in the gifted kid's program - and listed Temari as her relaxation!

Webmasters note - a super hats off to the teachers of this world, and to ordinary folks that help them along. Blair and Carolyn did a great job with the project, and thanks to Karen for supporting them. To the kids of Daphne Intermediate - wonderful job! Thanks to all for sharing this experience, and for ebing an inspriation to other educators on how Temari can be used in their schools and projects.
