Temari Pattern 99SH01
pattern interpretation contributed by Sue H. from traditional teaching
Accomplished Intermediate to Advanced
I was the very fortunate recipient of a Temari in this
pattern
from Susan for a GITS round.... they are beautiful. Sue was kind enough to prep these pages of instructions for
it... please be patient as they are graphic heavy.
This pattern is a tradtional one, called Hito
Hude-Gake, which literally means
"one stroke brush". As you work the pattern you'll see how it got its
name! The design works as a strand that finds its way
around the mari in
a spiral fashion and then repeats in the opposite direction.
Added Jan 2007:
It's an ongoing favorite and as TT folks have yearned and learned how
to stitch it, we've been given a little more "simplified" instruction
set worked through a small tutorial group led by Nicole B (with Sue H
helping and fully supporting). You can download the simplified and
printer-friendly version PDF File for Hitu Hude
Gake. Deep thanks to Nicole for her efforts in pulling the tutorial
and graphics together as well as her tutorial group (including
Nicole, Harriet, Sue H, Lynn C, Anastasia, Glenna, Barbara,
Laura, John, Sandy, Carolyn, Carol, Kathy, Blair, Marilyn, Ryan and KJ.
If we missed you, thank you too and just drop a note, we'll get you
added in).

This pattern spans a number of pages... you'll find
a navigation
bar on the bottom of each page so that you can go to any other page in
the
pattern.
