For Weaving Pattern 2 - follow these instructions:
Use contrasting or matching mari thread....

Rows 1,2,3 - bring thread up at left edge of spinlde at the obi, work towards North Pole and weave under 6v and over 6, repeat across - finish with under 6, then repeat on the next 7 spindles.

Rows 4 through 9 - work over 6 under 6, repeat across.

Rows 10 through 15 - work under 6 over 6, repeat across.

Rows 16 through 21 - work over 6 under 6, repeat across.

Secure row 21 by catching a few threads as you do the "under" stitches. Embellish poles with straight stitches if desired. Ball is complete
