Temari Pattern 72
Intermediate
This ball is worked on a standard C10 division. Use a  three inch (24cm diameter) wrapped ball and prepare a standard C10 division. it is deceptively easy given the rich results it produces, and is a good introduction to the "woven layers" technique that can be somewhat elusive - this pattern is straightforward in using it for great results. The pattern works inward toward the 3-leaf clusters.

From the center of each pentagon, locate the triangles that are formed by each group of three adjacent triangles. Locate points A-C in each, inset about half to three quarters of a cm from the center of the pentagons and work one row in each triangle, all over the ball. Now, Locate points 1-3 and work over one triangle, overlapping the sides of the three adjacents to work the second round of "upside down triangles". Work over all triangles from the previous round to complete one cycle.

Repeat the first round of right-side up triangles and then the second of upside-down ones for each cycle. You will see the inner 3 leaf clusters being to form as you go.

End with two rows of right side up triangles outlining and highlighting the pattern, and they will point to the center of the original 12 pentagons of the C10 division.
