Temari Egg PL01

Wrap an egg shape.

Do a 12S division.  Find equator/center.  On 6 alternate lines place  pins 1 inch from equator.  On the equator place pins on the other alternate lines.

Stitch from the equator as you would a kiku design, to pins above all around. Begin at the pin placed 1 inch above the equator, and place the bottom of the stitch just under the equator; work one round.
Then work the same stitching below the equator - begin at a pin 1 inch below the equator, and place the upper point just over the equator so it overlaps/interweaves with the previous row. Repeat these two steps until the design fills in as shown. (See Uwagake Chidori Stitch)

To do the top and bottom,  place pins on alternate lines 3/8 inch below South pole and North pole at the points above and below  the center stitching.  Then find a point about half way between the top points and the top of the center stitching. Then stitch as you did around the equator.  You will have different amount of rows of work depending on the size pearl cotton you are using.  (For mine I used #8 pearl cotton).
