TemariKai Temari-a-Month Calendar 2008: The Photo Call Winners

The tradition continues with the Temarikai Photo Contest Calendar, and the 2008 Temari-a-Month Photo Calendar from Temarikai.com is ready and shipping via Cafe Press. The photo call was open to all TemariKai.com web readers through the fall of 2007, closing the end of October, and 12 photos were selected to be in the 2008 calendar. There were many submissions - choosing 12 certainly was not easy,  and the final choices were made by independent parites since I tossed a photo into the hat this year also. The final images were selected based on the temari interest, photo composition and in meeting print demands.  I send my thanks to all that participated by submitting images, and especially to those who made it into this year's edition (see info below on getting ready for next year).

Congratulations go to the following crafters who were selected for the 2008 edition: in no particular order: Nicole Buchanan, Meagan Christie, Anne Wimer, Karin Karlsson, Ginny Thompson, Mallary Coleman,
Ria Westerdijk,
Susan Cameron , Linda Mitchell, Apryl Southmaid, Diane Boxley, Sue Hayashi. Countries represented this year include The Netherlands and Sweden, in addition to the USA.

If your photo is being used in the calendar please remember that you are entitled to a calendar at base cost plus shipping from Cafe Press - please get in touch with me for arranging that purchase. TemariKai.com and PuffinStuff Inc. will also carry on the tradition begun last year by donating 30% of the proceeds of each calendar sale to the Sarah's Book Project, which supports cancer research and patient care at Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Boston Massachusetts USA.  Again, my deep thanks to all who made the project possible again this year. Sine the start, each year sees more and more submissions....  and that is a wonderful thing to see for what it represents for Temari. By the close of this holiday season we will have broken the $2000.00 mark that has been raised for Dana Farber - on behalf of Sarah Robinson's family and myself, thank you very much.

Both calendar styles are again available  - the traditional, page a month wall calendar (high quality calendars printed on glossy 100 lb text weight paper in full bleed dynamic color. They measure 8.5" x 11" when folded, and 11" x 17" when hanging on your wall) as well as an ataglance print calendar - (high quality, one-page wall calendars, printed on glossy, 12 point paper and measure 11" x 17" overall). The upper portion carries a montage of all the selected photos and the bottom a full-year calendar.  They make great gifts, and also a super way to introduce others to the craft of Temari. With the holidays just around the corner you can share your love of Temari in a special, unique way -

We've been able to hold prices the same as last year - so the 2007 TemariKai Wall calendar is available for purchase for $17.95 (which includes the Dana Farber donation), and the 2007 TemariKai AtaGlance Calendar print is available for $5.95 (again that includes the Dana Farber Donation) plus s/h from the The Temari Shop  on Cafe Press. Cafe Press accepts major credit card orders online or by phone (to order by phone call toll free (877) 809-1659 and request product number 189911786 for the Wall Calendar, or product number 189911785 for the ataglance print).

If you prefer to order by check or money order, you print and send the printable order form to me (US orders only) and I will place your order for you, to be shipped directly to you.

Remember we'll be looking for high-quality, showcased temari (take special care in choosing the background, which should be uncluttered and show off your temari - (see this year's edition for examples) photos, of at least 200 pixel resolution and 81/2 x 11 inches finished size.
