The
most common (though certainly not the only) embroidery stitches used in
Temari making are shown here. Many Japanese books have a version of this
diagram (the book this was taken from did not have ISBN or copyright information
to be found or interpreted - it's not my intention to pirate the author's
work.). Within Temari there are only a few stitches used - mostly the herringbone
and the straight stitch..... herringbone can be combined to form the Chrysanthemum....
virtually all stitches shown here and used in Temari are applications of
these three.
