The Talk Temari group has hashed over how small one can make a Temari.... some of us have experimented. I have found them to be quite popular - people are quite take when you dump a bunch into their hands or lap. They have been used for decorations and ornaments, package decorations, in floral and wreath arrangements, and currently I am preparing a large number for table favors for a friend's daughter's wedding. I have made Temari pendants and drop earrings out of this size and smaller. Personally I love them in a tall glass cylinder, or glass bowl. While one can use a small styro ball for a mari core, all of these are done on maris made of either a kleenex or bits of polyester batting or fiberfill, and average one inch in diameter. Embroidery is done with Pearl Number 5, rayon floss, Pearl Crown Rayon or Omega Nylon depending on the ball. For the basics on how to make Teenie Temari, click here.
