Blair's Trip to Japan - Fullbright Memorial Fund Scholarship

One of the things that Blair did for us just prior to her leaving for Japan was to ask me what, if she was indeed able to get to the Temari Museum, did I want her to ask them etc.... and it did not take long for us to hatch the idea of me writing another letter to the Association introducing us ( the temari makers outside of Japan as we have come together, explain a little bit about the site and most importantly the discussion group and most passionately and respectfully request that we be able to get in touch and establish some communication. I sent the file to Blair and she printed it to hand deliver to the curator(s) at the museum... which she indeed did. Not only did it get delivered it also got translated on the spot by the host of the sister school that Blair was visiting.... and from what Blair told me they were quite happy and enthused to hear that Temari is becoming popular here and is being preserved as we are working to do.

I was thrilled to have at least made this much contact, since I have written several times to the staff of the museum and sent them via airpostal mail to no avail of getting a reply....  so at least I knew that finally the JTA at least knew that we existed.

Well - Blair finally managed to accomplish even more... I received this letter the other day in reply to our communication.....

I'm certainly hoping that we can build on this and establish a good communication and participation with the JTA....  and I offer my deep thanks to Blair for her time and effort in going out of her way for me and us to open contact with the JTA and the museum.
