Here's what the 14 faces
marking looks like. It starts with a Simple 4
division, adding an obi. Then, additional marking lines are added so
that squares, hexagons and triangles are created in a symmetric fashion
around the ball - but, since you are not creating more 4 point even
centers in the process, this is not a division. It's a modified marking
from a Simple 4 division.

| 1) Mark a C4 (simple 4
with obi,
shown in white thread). Find the value of 2/7 the distance of pole to
obi (see below for help to do this) - use the 2/7 distance to mark out
from each pole and place marking lines to create a square around each
pole (shown in light blue). When these are complete, there will
be hexagons formed in each quadrant as shown in light pink lines on the
diagram. |
2) Add marking lines
that
connect opposite corners of the hexagons (hexagon outline shown in pink
on the diagram) - lines here are shown in light blue thread. Tack the
centers where the marking lines cross in the center of the hexagons.
Repeat around the ball. |
